CHOCO-LATTE!

I have promised myself that I will only keep one main weblog now and not be so damned melodramatic with my ramblyness.

So all future (and past [i.e. pre-Ampersand, Reflected]) posts are on Choco-latte!

See you all there?

to write

  • 1000 Journals Exhibit at SF MoMA (I went this Sunday!)
  • Trinote planner review, part ii
  • NOTEBOOK POST. UGH. I really need/want to write this!
  • Reasons why I do not post very often on Choco-latte (put this on Choco-latte)
  • Reasons why I should redesign Choco-latte
  • Random thoughts on why/if I should (not) start a poetry or fanfiction blog.
  • Bubble calendar!

Review: Hello Kitty Hi-Tec-C (black, 0.3mm)

So I figured I'd just post the transcript of what I wrote in my notebook because 1) I'm lazy as hell, and 2) my handwriting's atrocious.

Enjoy! :)

(Note: Sorry, Pilot. >< I accidentally wrote Pentel instead of Pilot in my review. Sincerest apologies!)

So I decided to re-do/rewrite my review 'cause my previous one was messy and totally off-topic.

Anyway, the main thing I wanted to include from that initial review is that it took a few strokes to get the ink flowing (I don't know; is that normal for 0.3mm pens?). You can see a bit of that as I was trying to write today's date, too.

The ink flow is really nice, though, after the initial ink flow problem. The grip (or lack thereof) is a bit uncomfortable; it's leaving imprints on my already calloused finger. ;_;

I'm pretty sure the ink dries rather quickly.
Yep, quick, um, finger-swiping test made sure of that.
[Highlighter test.]

I actually prefer this over the Pilot G-2 0.38mm, mainly because of how fast the ink dries and the better flow. The grip on the G-2 is more comfortable, though, and I do prefer retractable pens.

Other Thoughts: no skipping, great for sketchy doodling!

GRADE: A (and the cute Hello Kitty on top is awesome. :D)

death by finals

Geometry final and English final project left!

I have my Hello Kitty Hi-Tec-C review written and uploaded on my computer. I'll post it up as soon as I can, promise!

In other news:
I spilled water on my laptop during my chem project, and the right/left mouse buttons don't work anymore. :(
My chem project turned out pretty nicely, though!

hello kitty hi-tec-c pens!

JetPens still has more limited edition Hello Kitty Hi-Tec-C pens to give away on Facebook for those interested in reviewing!

Just asked for mine yesterday. :)

a surprising discovery

So, before I start my whole spiel about what it is that I actually discovered, let me first introduce you to the pens in my pencil bag (pictures in the near future! I promise, dammit):
Right, so onto the story:

So today I was helping Meredith with her history homework, and my geometry teacher comes along and chastises me for talking. :( So I had to write 30 sentences of this actually relatively short sentence (still long, though, okay? -_- Comparing it to other sentences I've had to write/I know other people have written. Ohgod, I'm such a bad kid). Meredith helped, though. I love her.

Anyway, it was a perfect opportunity to actually test out the pens I have.

Right now, my favorite pen in my pen bag, hands down, is my Zebra Airfit Jell.I mean, honestly, it's gorgeous. How could you not love it? It's perfect for note-taking and essay-writing and just writing in general.

Of course, being the cheap-ass (along with lazy-ass) I am, I don't want to use it for fear of wasting the ink. Haha. >_>

Okay, before I start sounding like I'm totally trashing gel pens, remember: my main concern here was speed-writing. Honestly, I didn't want to be writing for the whole goddamned class period.

So which pens did I actually test out to write with?
And, surprisingly, guess who won out? The Bic Ultra Round Stic Grip. A ballpoint pen! The liquid ink pen was way too inky for speed-writing (ohgod! Especially in 0.5mm!), and the 0.38mm was too scratchy for speed-writing. The mechanical pencils were just annoying.
My fondness for ballpoint pens has waned over the past year or so. I really liked the feel of them while writing way back when (really smooth, but I guess this kind of goes with all 0.7mm+ pens, huh?). Unfortunately, they're terribly messy and scratchy sometimes when the ink is being a pain in the ass, but this kind of brought back my willingness to use them more often (not my blue one, though. That's only reserved for my dammit-I-need-a-blue-pen-for-English moments. I hate blue pens. Fucking pansy color).

Anyway, surprising discovery! Here it is! Ballpoint pens are great for speed-writing.

Provided you don't actually need to read your writing afterwards.

Hah.

(Are there such things as ultra fine-point ballpoint pens? Fine-point, as in less than 0.5mm?)

Ohgod, I'm so pathetic. I just ruined my plug for ballpoint pens. :(

Of course, the Zebra Airfit Jell is still my favorite pen ever. "Ever," as in what's in my bag right now.

And I don't have a sample of my sentences, unfortunately. My geometry teacher finds joy in tearing them up in our faces. It's kind of funny.

Well, you know, if it doesn't happen to you.

sweetly

Guess who just got another year older.

Yep.

Got a bunch of lovely things from my parents. :) Yundi Li concert tickets! (must blog about this), The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger, My Sassy Girl (the American version), Buffy! (new kitty! :D).

Also got Dong-A Popcorn Puffy Paint Pens from Jenny and Burt's Bees Nourishing Gift Set from Janvi. :)

Also, on another note: I guess I never thought that much of it, but geez, I feel really kind of lucky to be able to go to China so often and get all these awesome pens/stationery things so cheaply. Like the cute Iwako erasers that they sell everywhere in China for, like, less than a dollar. Anyway, I should really pay more attention next time I go (which might not be for a while. :( Junior and senior years coming. Ugh).
Anyway, chem test, English quiz, geometry quiz, history presentation tomorrow. Fun. D:

Goddammit, I promise I'll post pictures of stuff eventually. I'm so goddamn lazy. -_-

(INAUGURATION. INAUGURATION. INAUGURATION. Who else thought Michelle Obama was absolutely stunning today/night? Who else is totally looking forward to the next four [hopefully, eight!] years? Who else is EXCITEDINSPIREDTOUCHEDSOHAPPY TO BE ALIVE?)

differentiation

So I've decided to make this an exclusively stationery-related weblog. Like my failed attempt at a fanfiction livejournal.

I promise promise promise my notebook post is coming! I've just been busy with other..things. :( Like my English paper, chemistry project, etc. I'll post pictures of it later. :) My chem project, that is. I'm quite proud of it. Also need to post pictures of my current knitting project (Slytherin-color scheme scarf), Alina's Secret Santa card/calendar, and pictures from Moo Party III on Facebook.

So, anyway, stationery-related news:
  • Got new Sharpies, Pilot G-2s (0.38mm) in black/red/green/blue.
  • Using a black Watson-Guptill sketchbook for my chemistry project. It's really nice, and the pages are thick enough to withstand glue but not Sharpies.
  • Planning on going to MaiDo next Friday during Gurleen's sweet sixteen to get more lovely pens. :)
  • Also planning on going to Fremont Hub next Saturday after my last day at the Tech Museum to buy more pens.
